Today’s Catch
What we cook depends on what the fishermen bring us. Usually that means grilled octopus, red mullet, calamari and plenty of bread for our taramosalata.
Our little corner of Karnayio
Alieutiko Katafygio started with a father and son who wanted to cook the food they grew up with — the kind you’d get at a relative’s table on a Sunday, just a few steps from the boats in Limassol’s old harbour.
Every morning the fresh catch comes in from local fishermen: octopus, red mullet, sea bream, whatever they’ve caught. If it isn’t fresh, it doesn’t go on the grill.
It’s relaxed and unfussy. Settle in, share a few plates and stay for one more round as the sun goes down over the port.
